Minimal disassembly and some basic tools may be needed.
Part Description: Pumps water out of the tub through the drain hose.
Failure Symptoms: Dishes not getting cleaned; Drain pump makes a grinding noise.
Testing: Use a multimeter to check the pump motor for continuity. If there isn't any continuity, or if it is getting power but still won’t run, the drain pump should be replaced.
Bonus Tip: Prolong the life of your dishwasher by cleaning your dishwasher monthly.

I'm not a repairman but have worked in electronics. It was a very easy install, dishwasher (Hotpoint from 1994)
works great, and you can't beat the price.
