Minimal disassembly (if any) and some basic tools may be needed.

Part Description: Regulates the heat level of the burner element.

Failure Symptoms: Cannot control the burner temperature, or cannot turn the burner on/off; Burner will not heat.

Testing: If you're unable to control an electric burner, the burner's infinite switch should be replaced.

Bonus Tip: Easily determine if the element or switch is defective by switching the non-working element with a working one. If the new element works, the the old element was defective. If the new element does not work, it likely that the switch is defective.
