W10619951 Refrigerator Drain Tube For Maytag / Whirlpool / KitchenAid

Repair Skill Level: 2 | Beginner to Moderate
Minimal disassembly (if any) and some basic tools may be needed.

Part Description: The drain tube acts as an extension piece that carries water from the defrost cycle to the drain pan.

Failure Symptoms: Water leaking from the refrigerator.

Testing: Check the defrost drain to see if it's been disconnected or has damage. If damage is discovered, replace the drain. If no damage is found, check to see if it is clogged or frozen. If the defrost drain is frozen, thaw the ice. Once thawed, flush the drain with hot water to clear it of possible debris.

Bonus Tip: Keep your refrigerator operating at it's best by taking time to clean the condenser coils. It's typically recommended to clean the coils 1-2 times each year. Owners of shedding pets may need to clean them even more frequently. You can use specialty tools for this, or you can brush-out/vacuum over and under the coils.

This part fit as expected and will solve water dripping issue. I had difficulty getting it to slide all the way up on fitting adapter. I don't think it will fall off, but I could not get it all the way up against bottom of the refrigerator compartment. I plan to use some hot water to warm up the tube to make it more flexible and, hopefully, it will slide on easier.

This p-trap for the defrost section of the refrigerator is a replacement for a poorly designed original drain. Installation was per the pictured sheet but it was easier to insert the small plug into the p-trap first about half way and then push on to the nipple. Delivery was prompt. Packaging was great for the item.

This was exactly what I was needing. Even though I had watched many videos to help with the installation, it came with instructions as well...which was nice. Packaging was nice and super fast delivery!

The product seemed a bit flimsy and look kind of cheap plastic but it installed very easily and will certainly do the job. I can see where you would have to be careful not to break it when installing. Good service from Thrifty Appliance parts and I received the part very quickly. I do think the shipping was too high.
