279393 Dryer Terminal Block Screw Set For Kenmore

Repair Skill Level: 2 | Beginner to Moderate
Minimal disassembly (if any) and some basic tools may be needed.

Part Description: This screw set is used to connect electric dryer terminal wires to the terminal block.

Failure Symptoms: Dryer tripping breaker.

Testing: Check to see if any of the wires on the terminal block are loose or damaged. If loose they can arc and destroy part of the block. If this happens, one of the wires can short against the body of the dryer, causing the dryer to trip the breaker. Replace any damaged pieces.

Bonus Tip: If you've checked your dryer for all possible reasons for tripping the breaker, but have not found the cause, you may want to take a look at the breaker itself. Circuit breakers can weaken over time, which can cause it to trip often (even if the amp draw is under the limit). If you suspect this is the case, consider having an electrician replace the circuit breaker.
