Part Description: The idler spring keeps the dryer drive belt under tension as the belt wraps around the dryer drum.
Failure Symptoms: Dryer makes noise and/or drum will not spin.
Testing: Check the idler pulley for signs of wear and make sure it spins freely on the shaft. If the idler pulley is stuck, worn or damaged, it should be replaced.
Bonus Tip: As preventative maintenance, it's recommended to replace the drive belt at the same time as the idler pulley.
