How to Make a Washing Machine Costume This Halloween

29th Oct 2015

Everyone wants that unique costume that sets them off from the rest of the trick or treaters or party goers. What better way to do that then to go out as a kitchen appliance and better yet, a washing machine. Here are some tips and ideas to help set your washing machine costume off from the rest using things you probably have around the house.

What You'll Need

1 cardboard box or a piece of cardboard large enough to be folded

glue

an empty detergent bottle

washing machine parts such as knobs or hoses

white construction paper

markers

plastic bottle caps

tape

What You'll Do

You'll want to tape the box up and then cut out holes for your head arms and body. Cover the box with the white paper or poster board. Use a piece of cardboard for your control panel. Here you can either use plastic bottle caps as knobs or actual washing machine knobs. Glue the empty detergent bottle to the top and you're good to go. Add any finishing touches you'd like to. Maybe adding a brand name like Maytag or Whirlpool. If a front load washer is what you want try using a clear bowl or lid and stick a couple of socks behind it. Then tape it to the front.
