Failure Symptoms: Lint screen or frame damaged or ripped.
Testing: Check lint filter / screen for damage.
Bonus Tip: Prevent air flow obstructions and lint fires by cleaning your lint filter 1-2 times per year. Residue from dryer sheets and fabric softener can build up over time, restricting air flow through the lint filter screen. Test your screen by pouring water on your lint filter screen. If the water pools up instead of flowing through the screen, wash the screen in warm, soapy water. Rinse, retest and repeat until the water flows through.

Thrifty Appliance Parts: Whirlpool Dryer Lint Screen
It was past the time to replace our dryer lint screen, from 2010. Found Thrifty Appliance Parts online, & ordered the screen. Unfortunately, it came poorly packaged & very mangled. I took photos, & leerily contacted the business. It was refreshing to note that a replacement was immediately sent out. I reached out to see how I was supposed to return the mangled screen, and was told that it wasn’t necessary. The replacement screen came in a sturdier box, & fits beautifully. I truly appreciated hearing from, who I can only presume to be, the owners. Though this could have turned into a very stressful situation, everything turned out well.

Dryer lint
I am thrilled to have my replacement for my dryer lint trap. It was chipped at the top, I am sure in shipping process, however, my old one was done and a problem to deal with. I am happy even with the chip....it works.
