Part Description: The lint filter catches fibers that are agitated from clothing when they're tumbled in the dryer.
Failure Symptoms: Lint screen or frame damaged or ripped.
Testing: Check lint filter / screen for damage.
Bonus Tip: Prevent air flow obstructions and lint fires by cleaning your lint filter 1-2 times per year. Residue from dryer sheets and fabric softener can build up over time, restricting air flow through the lint filter screen. Test your screen by pouring water on your lint filter screen. If the water pools up instead of flowing through the screen, wash the screen in warm, soapy water. Rinse, retest and repeat until the water flows through.

Replacement LG dryer lint filter ...
While this filter does not seem to fit exactly like the original, nor is it an exact match for color, I have no complaints given the economical cost and the fact that it works perfectly and I no longer have to strain to attempt to remove lint the way that I did with the old filter.
