Failure Symptoms: Refrigerator not running or erratic temperatures, like freezing in the refrigerator.
How to test: Often times, using a screwdriver handle to tap on the temperature control knob will start or stop the refrigerator. If it does, the thermostat is likely faulty.
If the refrigerator is not running at all, continuity may be tested between the thermostat terminals using a multimeter. If no continuity and the thermostat is turned on, it is faulty.
Repair Tip: Be sure to place the capillary tube exactly as the old one is placed and install any insulating tubing that may come with the new thermostat or use the one from the old thermostat. Be careful not to bend or kink the capillary tubing too sharply.
