Instead of draining out all the water from your hand, you can complete the task in a matter of seconds with the help of a dryer. There are a large number of people who are using dryers on daily basis for drying their clothes. However, there are some fabrics that can be dried in the dryer and then there are some that can be damaged in the dryer.

Fabrics that should go in the dryer:

There are some fabrics that can be easily used in the dryer without any worries of shape changing and other damages. The fabrics that are safe to be dried in the dryer includes the following:

  • Cotton: One of the most common fabrics that are used nowadays for different purposes. No matter if it is used for a dress or for the bed sheet, the cotton cloth can work best. As it is a natural fiber, it can be dried in a dryer easily.
  • Acrylic: The next fabric that can be dried in a dryer is acrylic. It is a synthetic fiber that is made from the polymers of acrylic acid. Generally, this fabric is shrink resistant so it is best to take it out from the dryer when it is not fully dry.
  • Linen: It is another natural fiber that is used for the creation of different pieces. It is spun together before creation and weaved in different patterns.
  • Nylon: This fabric is best known as it is used in the creation of stockings. It is a durable material that is safe to be put in the dryer.
  • Polyester: Another material that can be dried in a dryer without reshaping or getting damage.
  • Silk: It is a beautiful fiber that creates great pieces of clothing. It has different types and only some can be used in the dryer.

Other materials include spandex, wool, and microfiber.

Fabrics that should not go in the dryer:

Although there are a lot of fabrics that can be dried in the dryers but there are some that should not pass this procedure. These fabrics include the following:

  • Rubber: Whether it is natural or synthetic, it should not be put in the dryer.
  • Rayon: The next fabric that should not go into your dryer is rayon. It is created from the natural wood fiber so it lies somewhere between the synthetic and natural fabric.
  • Laces or embellished items: The movement of the dryer can damage embellishments such as beads so they should be put into the dryer.

By having the above information, it will be easier for you to decide the cloth piece you are planning to dry in the dryer.
